The Centerpiece of Downtown Tampa Has a New Name

The Benchmark International Arena has officially taken its place as the rebranded heart of Tampa Bay’s sports and entertainment scene. In a landmark move announced on August 13—also known as 813 Day—Vinik Sports Group and Benchmark International revealed a multiyear naming rights partnership, setting the stage for a new era at this iconic venue. The unveiling, led by Emmy Award-winning sportscaster Sara Walsh, marks the transition from the arena’s long-standing partner AMALIE Motor Oil to a name that embodies global reach, local roots, and shared community values. Fans can find more details through the official site and follow the arena’s social media channels for updates.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

Benchmark International, a global leader in mergers and acquisitions, isn’t just a corporate powerhouse—it’s a Tampa neighbor. With its international headquarters based here since 2010, the company has deep ties to the community. As part of the new agreement, over $3 million in nonprofit contributions will benefit local organizations, reinforcing the company’s commitment to giving back. Benchmark Chairman Steven Keane emphasized the importance of “relationships, values, impact and excellence,” echoing the principles that have guided both organizations for years.

Lightning Leaders Speak on the Alliance

Lightning co-owner Doug Ostrover described the decision to align with Benchmark as one grounded in trust, vision, and shared ambition. He stressed that naming rights are about more than signage—they represent a shared purpose. “Benchmark International is an organization that leads with purpose. They’re global in reach, ambitious in thinking, and dedicated to meaningful impact,” Ostrover noted, drawing parallels between the company’s mission and the Lightning’s own aspirations.

What Fans Can Expect from the Rebrand

The rebranding will include new signage, enhanced digital integrations, and the renaming of the premium club level to the Benchmark International Club Level. Its signature all-inclusive experience will now be known as “The Mark.” Fans can join the celebration with free community events set for mid-October, followed by activations leading into the 2025–26 season. Vinik Sports Group CEO Steve Griggs underscored the inclusivity of this transformation, calling the arena “a place that belongs to everyone in Tampa Bay.”

More Than a Name Change—It’s a Legacy

For Ostrover and the Lightning, this partnership represents long-term potential. “The best partnerships don’t just name buildings, they create opportunities, and they build legacy,” he said. This collaboration aims to bring lasting benefits to the Tampa Bay community, reinforcing the arena as not just a venue, but a symbol of ambition and unity for years to come.

From fresh branding to meaningful community investment, the new Benchmark International Arena is shaping up to be more than just a renamed building—it’s the beginning of a story Tampa will be telling for decades. Ready to see what’s next? The Mark is only the beginning.
