First Watch Announces Opening Date for New Downtown Tampa Restaurant

First Watch is making an exciting return to downtown Tampa, bringing its beloved breakfast, brunch, and lunch offerings back to the heart of the city after a brief hiatus. The new restaurant, located at 400 North Tampa St., is set to open on December 23. The original downtown location, first established in 1996, was a significant milestone as the fifth First Watch in Florida.

Earlier this year, the chain’s initial downtown restaurant was torn down to make way for this updated facility. The new 4,000-square-foot space can accommodate up to 160 guests and features modern additions like an indoor bar and a vibrant mural inspired by Tampa’s local culture.

First Watch’s menu continues to stand out with its commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients. The offerings change five times a year, keeping things exciting for returning customers. Signature dishes like the “Avocado Toast,” “Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict,” and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes remain among the top choices for diners. The restaurant will be open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., ensuring a focus on early-day dining.

The new downtown Tampa location will employ approximately 30 team members and will operate on a one-shift-a-day schedule, embodying First Watch’s “No Night Shifts Ever” philosophy. This unique approach prioritizes a healthy work-life balance for employees, making the company a standout employer in the restaurant industry.

First Watch is currently in growth mode, with over 30 restaurants spread across Florida’s Suncoast, including a location in Tampa’s Westshore business district. Nationwide, the chain boasts more than 500 locations, cementing its reputation as a leader in the brunch and lunch dining scene.
