Gasparilla Festival of the Arts Returns to Tampa with Nearly $100,000 in Prizes

The Gasparilla Festival of the Arts is back in downtown Tampa, bringing with it nearly $100,000 in prize money and scholarships for artists from across the nation. This celebrated weekend event, now in its 56th year, transforms Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park into a vibrant showcase of creativity, competition, and community spirit. With the prestigious $15,000 Raymond James Best of Show Award on the line, anticipation is running high among participating artists and art lovers alike.

Each year, the Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts honors exceptional creators whose work leaves a lasting impression. Last year’s spotlight shone on Tampa artist Nneka Jones, whose breathtaking piece, “Harmonious Conjunction,” earned the $6,500 GFA Founder’s Award. The portrait of two women, masterfully crafted in thread and paint, stood out among hundreds of submissions, demonstrating the extraordinary level of artistic excellence, innovation, and visual storytelling that defines this juried show.
