Gasparilla Film Fest Showcases Stars and Films in Tampa

The Gasparilla Film Fest is back, and Tampa is once again rolling out the red carpet for one of its most beloved cultural traditions. The Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) returns for its 19th year, running March 3–8, bringing a week packed with independent films, celebrated storytellers, and vibrant cinematic energy to Tampa Bay. In a city known for throwing festivals for pirates, strawberries, and everything in between, this dynamic film festival adds another unforgettable chapter to Tampa’s event calendar.

Hosted by the nonprofit Tampa Film Institute, GIFF isn’t just about screening movies—it’s about building a creative movement. The organization’s mission is to inspire, educate, and entertain through the annual festival, along with year-round events and outreach programs that nurture the local film scene. It’s not just “watch movie, clap,” it’s “watch movie, clap, then accidentally join a community conversation about why stories matter.” That layered experience is exactly what makes this cinematic celebration, community engagement, and arts culture initiative so special.
