Park & Rec in Downtown Tampa Closes Its Doors

Park & Rec, a downtown Tampa bar and restaurant, has closed its doors for good. The concept, which was operated by parent company Hunger Thirst Group, had been the subject of a contentious 2020 lawsuit and was located at 290 S. Meridian St.

The news was announced late Thursday night by Stephen Schrutt, founder and CEO of Hunger Thirst Group. “I’m glad we gave the Tampa location a good run, but looking back, it wasn’t the right fit for the concept,” said Schrutt.
