Tampa Bay Rays unveil $2.3B stadium plan in Hillsborough

The Tampa Bay Rays have taken a major step toward a possible new home, releasing a memorandum that lays out the framework for a massive stadium plan in Hillsborough County. The proposal centers on a new ballpark near Hillsborough Community College’s Dale Mabry campus and positions the project as both a sports venue and a broader destination for events, entertainment, and public use.

At the heart of the proposal is a development valued at no less than $2.3 billion, with a target debut in time for the 2029 season. According to the memorandum, the new stadium would rise near the Dale Mabry campus area and be designed to host not only Major League Baseball games, but also concerts and other major events throughout the year.
