HCSO Releases Identities of Victims in Tampa Hospital Murder-Suicide Case
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected murder-suicide that occurred in the parking lot of a Tampa hospital.
According to HCSO, deputies responded to a distress call at 6:37 p.m. on August 14, regarding two possibly deceased individuals in the parking lot of HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a woman with gunshot wounds and a man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities identified the victims as 67-year-old Zelica Martucci and 75-year-old Philip Martucci. Deputies confirmed that this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy, and our hearts break for the families and loved ones affected by this senseless loss,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Violence like this is never the solution. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this tragedy.”
The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing.
