Tampa's 717 Parking Eyes Growth with Nashville Expansion Post-Antitrust Deal

Tampa’s 717 Parking Enterprises is making its debut in the Music City. Seven One Seven, the parking company owned and operated by twin brothers John and Jason Accardi, now holds control over 20 parking assets in Nashville. The majority of this new portfolio, which includes approximately 5,000 parking spaces in surface lots and garages, is focused on commercial parking. It also encompasses hotel valet services.

The acquisition was finalized on August 16. This portfolio was a spin-off resulting from the merger of Metropolis Technologies Inc. and SP Plus Corp. Seven One Seven acquired the properties that were formerly managed by SP Plus. The financial specifics of the transaction were not disclosed. The company plans to employ around 250 people in Nashville, combining former SP Plus employees with new hires.

“For 34 years, we have been committed to delivering excellence in parking, mobility, and hospitality services, and this acquisition further enhances our ability to provide cutting-edge solutions that cater to the diverse needs of our clients and customers,” stated Jason Accardi. “We are particularly excited to establish our presence in Nashville and eagerly anticipate welcoming our new team members to the Seven One Seven family. Our priority is to ensure a seamless transition while maintaining the high standards of service our clients have come to expect.”

Seven One Seven now controls parking assets across six states and in more than a dozen cities. This marks the company’s inaugural venture into Tennessee. The Accardi brothers are among the largest landowners in downtown Tampa, known for their strategic investments in parking lots and other properties. Jason Accardi mentioned that they plan to implement a similar strategy in Nashville.

“We’re really going to go after parking assets in Nashville as well,” Accardi shared with the Tampa Bay Business Journal. “We’re not just an operator of parking. We’re going to go after and own assets like we’ve done in other markets.”
