The American Victory Ship: A Vessel of History and Terror
Set aboard the legendary American Victory Ship, “Undead in the Water” takes place on a 1945 WWII vessel with a storied past. Built in just 55 days at a California shipyard, this historic ship served valiantly in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Today, it stands as one of only three fully operational WWII Victory-class ships in the country. During the day, it operates as a floating museum, open to the public Monday from noon to 5 pm, and Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. At night, however, it transforms into Tampa’s scariest haunted attraction.
Not for the Faint-Hearted
“Undead in the Water” is not your typical haunted house experience. It’s specifically designed for brave souls who dare to explore the eerie decks of this historic vessel. With multiple levels to traverse, this nautical nightmare is not recommended for young children or those easily spooked. If you have the courage, prepare for an experience that will test your nerves of steel and leave you with lasting memories of terror.

This wild nautical attraction is located in the heart of downtown Tampa, making it easy to access. Parking is available at the City of Tampa lot next to the Florida Aquarium and the Channelside Parking Garage at 369 South 12th St. Be sure to plan ahead, as this haunted event draws crowds each year.
