10 Arrested in Tampa as Police Crack Down on Street Takeover Event

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Late Friday night into early Saturday morning, law enforcement officials took action to stop a planned street takeover in Tampa. Following tips about the event, investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and the Tampa Police Department swiftly mobilized to address the issue.

Police and FHP troopers responded to several key intersections where people were reportedly gathering to race and perform “dangerous” stunts. These locations included Busch Boulevard and Florida Avenue, Fletcher Avenue and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, as well as a section of Temple Terrace Highway near Winn Dixie. Authorities noted that large groups had already assembled in these areas by the time officers arrived.
