Arepas Maita is already making an impact in Tampa before serving its first official meals, turning its unopened restaurant into a Venezuela relief donation hub after destructive earthquakes left families in urgent need.

The restaurant’s grand opening is still days away, but owner Paola Bordon moved quickly after learning about the damage in Venezuela, using the empty restaurant space to collect supplies for people affected by the crisis.
