Tampa is getting a rare look at one of the world’s most talked-about art collections as Banksy artwork Tampa takes over the Straz Center this summer with more than 160 authenticated works from the famously anonymous street artist. The limited-run exhibit is expected to be one of the biggest arts events in Tampa Bay this season.
The exhibit, titled The Art of Banksy, will open on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the David Straz Center for the Performing Arts and run through Sunday, Aug. 30, inside Morsani Hall. The show features what organizers describe as the largest private collection of authenticated Banksy works, valued at about $35 million.
