South Tampa Streets Flooded After Intense Rainstorm

Rain on Thursday afternoon unleashed a downpour that resulted in significant flooding across multiple streets in South Tampa. The relentless rainfall quickly overwhelmed the area, turning normally bustling roads into impassable waterlogged stretches. According to the City of Tampa flood map, some of the worst-hit areas included El Prado Boulevard and Bay to Bay Boulevard, where sections were completely submerged, making them unpassable for motorists and pedestrians alike.

The impact of the flooding extended beyond these main thoroughfares. Manhattan Avenue, a critical route in the area, also faced severe flooding. The flood map indicated that several parts of Manhattan Avenue, particularly between Euclid Avenue and Bay to Bay Boulevard, were rendered impassable. Residents and commuters were urged to avoid these areas and seek alternative routes, as the floodwaters posed a significant risk to vehicles and property.
