Tampa Bay Juneteenth events are giving residents a full week of ways to honor freedom, celebrate Black culture, and connect with community through festivals, art, wellness programs, family gatherings, and history-focused experiences across the region.
Juneteenth marks the moment in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, the holiday continues to inspire Tampa Bay gatherings centered on reflection, resilience, education, and community pride.
