Tampa Bay’s Rapid Growth: Health Care Struggles to Keep Up

The Tampa Bay area has experienced remarkable growth over the past decade. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the region saw a 15% increase in population, reflecting its appeal as a dynamic and vibrant community. However, during this same period, healthcare infrastructure has struggled to keep pace. Despite impressive population growth of 20% and 15%, respectively, both counties experienced a decrease in hospital beds over the last decade. This disparity raises critical concerns about equitable access to healthcare in the region.
