On Saturday night, an individual was arrested after live-streaming himself climbing a cellular tower in Hillsborough County. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with its aviation unit, responded to the 13000 block of Rhodine Road around 7 p.m. following reports of a man scaling the tower.
The man was swiftly identified, and deputies on the ground were directed to his location. Upon being found, he was descending the tower after documenting his escapade on social media.
“You made it all the way to the top?” an arresting deputy asked the man.
“Yeah,” the suspect said.
“That’s pretty crazy,” the deputy responded.
Upon reaching the ground, the man was taken into custody. Sheriff Chad Chronister praised the aviation unit and deputies for their commitment to safety, ensuring the resolution of the potentially hazardous situation. However, the sheriff’s office did not disclose any information identifying the suspect.
