Rreal Tacos Sets St. Pete Debut at Former Red Mesa Site Soon

Rreal Tacos is planning a major St. Pete debut at the former Red Mesa Cantina site in downtown St. Petersburg.

Rreal Tacos is preparing a major St. Pete debut at the former Red Mesa Cantina building, bringing new life to one of downtown’s most recognizable restaurant spaces after the longtime Mexican dining staple closed last month. The Atlanta-based hospitality group has acquired the historic three-story property at 128 3rd Street South and plans to turn it into a multi-concept dining and nightlife destination.

The project gives downtown St. Pete another big restaurant story to watch, especially as Tampa Bay continues to attract expanding hospitality brands with bold reuse plans for historic buildings. Rreal Tacos is aiming to preserve the character of the more than century-old structure while reimagining it for a new era of local dining and nightlife.
