Historic Tampa Theatre Selects New CEO Ahead of 100th Year

George Levesque will become Tampa Theatre’s next president and CEO as the venue approaches its 100th anniversary.

Tampa Theatre CEO news is bringing a major leadership change to one of downtown Tampa’s most beloved cultural landmarks. George Levesque has been selected as the next president and chief executive officer of Tampa Theatre, stepping into the role as the historic movie palace prepares for its 100th anniversary and a major new chapter.

Levesque is expected to begin in June, following a national search by the nonprofit that operates the 1926 venue on Franklin Street. He will succeed longtime leader John Bell, whose work helped transform Tampa Theatre from a classic repertory film house into a year-round destination for films, concerts, and community events.
