Izakaya Tori, a tapas restaurant, has recently revealed its plans to introduce a new culinary concept in the former Fly Bar’s location at 442 W Kennedy Boulevard. The announcement from the Izakaya Tori team was made on September 19.

While an official opening date and menu details are yet to be confirmed, Izakaya Tori has shared some tantalizing hints about the forthcoming establishment. It will be a Japanese-style pub emphasizing Japanese whisky, hand-rolled sushi, grilled skewers, sashimi, and an array of Japanese tapas dishes.

Here’s the full announcement on Instagram: “We are so excited to bring this news out.😁 A new concept to the Tampa Bay area. We are planning to open late night for our community to have a great vibe to hangout with friends and family.❤️”

Izakaya Tori brings Japanese pub culture to Tampa

Currently, they are running a full-scale tapas restaurant located at 310 S Dale Mabry Hwy #160. Their menu boasts an array of crowd-pleasers, including dishes like Yellowtail Jalapeno Carpaccio, Lotus Root Chips Guacamole, Kimchi Octopus, Agedashi Tofu, Garlic Butter Shrimp, BBQ Eel on Rice, and Mi-So-Hot Ramen.

Notably, Izakaya’s spicy octopus, tuna, and conch handrolls have garnered numerous glowing 5-star reviews. It’s worth mentioning that Izakaya Tori recently secured a spot on Yelp’s prestigious list of the top 100 restaurants to try in 2023.
