The Tampa Bay Ferry could soon give Tampa and St. Petersburg residents a cheaper, more reliable way to cross the bay without sitting in bridge traffic. Local transit leaders are moving forward with a plan to revive ferry service using a new two-boat model built for daily travel.
The updated service would use two boats, run seven days a week, and aim for $10 fares each way, making it less expensive than the former Cross-Bay Ferry’s final pricing. The goal is to create a more dependable connection between downtown Tampa and downtown St. Pete for visitors, workers, and weekend riders.
