Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) is about to revolutionize the way we experience the cosmos. On April 1, 2025, the highly anticipated Digital Dome Theatre will officially open, offering visitors a mesmerizing blend of science and spectacle. Beneath the museum’s iconic blue dome, guests will be immersed in cutting-edge visuals on a 10,000-square-foot curved screen, setting a new standard for planetarium experiences.
A Technological Marvel in the Making
Transforming the dome into a world-class venue took months of precision and engineering. Over 13 weeks, crews meticulously assembled the NanoSeam screen, ensuring a seamless display for ultra-sharp projections. In January, technicians installed 10 state-of-the-art Christie digital projectors, designed to produce breathtaking visuals. With the Digistar control system calibrated and immersive lighting added, the Digital Dome is now among the most advanced planetariums in the U.S.
