Step Aboard a WWII Cargo Ship for a Hair-Raising Experience: Undead in the Water

Haunted houses are intriguing, but enormous haunted ships take Halloween to a whole new level. That’s how we celebrate Halloween in Tampa. The highly anticipated spooky event of the year returns on the weekend of September 22, taking place aboard the American Victory Ship at 615 Channelside Drive. These eerie festivities will continue on select nights through October 22.

In the sixth installment of Undead in the Water, an enigmatic female specter and her possessed followers pose a menacing threat to passengers as they navigate 60,000 square feet of ominous cargo holds and open-air decks. The walls and passageways are adorned with the remains of the fallen as you venture through this forsaken vessel. Among the surviving crew, some have joined The Gathering, while others are desperately trying to escape the clutches of the cult, their haunting cries and groans resonating throughout the ship’s dark corridors.

Tampa’s wild haunted ship returns for its 6th season

The American Victory Ship, a remarkable vessel from 1945 that served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, is a testament to American history. Constructed in an astonishing 55 days at the California Shipyard, it proudly stands as an iconic national treasure, one of only three fully operational WWII Victory class ships in the United States. This floating museum invites visitors to explore its decks and is open from noon to 5 pm on Mondays and from 10 am to 5 pm from Tuesday to Saturday.

Once a year, the ship sets sail on a Relive History Cruise, journeying through the Channel for an exciting day filled with historical insights, entertainment, music, delicious food, and more. Tickets for this event, which occurs on select nights in September and October leading up to Halloween, can be conveniently reserved in advance online. It’s important to note that this attraction can be quite frightening, so it may not be suitable for young children.
