Tampa Bay Faces Heat Advisory on Monday Preceding an Unbearably Hot Week
The National Weather Service has placed all of Florida, including Tampa Bay, under a heat advisory ahead of scorching temperatures on Monday.
Tampa Bay could experience a heat index of 110 degrees for the second consecutive day, as indicated by the National Weather Service. The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Tampa Bay. Northern regions of Florida, including Ocala and Jacksonville, are also under an excessive heat warning with potential heat index values of up to 115 degrees.
The heat index gauges how the human body perceives temperature when factoring in air temperature and humidity. Heat advisories are released by the weather service when the projected heat index is 108 or higher.
A Heat Advisory is in effect again today with heat indices expected to climb up to 110°🥵. Not much change for rest of the work week as the southwest to west flow persists with sctd showers & t-storms each day, but the highest chances remain over SW FL and the interior. #flwx pic.twitter.com/HlYh14b5KM

Forecasters predict these scorching temperatures to persist throughout the work week. The majority of Tampa Bay will experience mid-90s highs. While daily scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible, the highest chance of rain is anticipated inland. To combat the heat, the weather service recommends staying hydrated, seeking shade or air-conditioned spaces, and looking after relatives, neighbors, children, and pets by not leaving them unattended in vehicles.
The advisory emphasizes extra precautions for outdoor workers, urging frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. Loose, lightweight clothing is also advised by the weather service when suitable.
