Tampa Improv Rebrands as The Funny Bone Comedy Club & Restaurant, Continuing Two Decades of Laughter in Historic Centro Ybor

After twenty years of delivering uproarious laughter to Tampa Bay, the iconic Tampa Improv announces its official transformation into The Funny Bone Comedy Club & Restaurant. Maintaining its prime location in historic Centro Ybor, The Funny Bone pledges to carry forward the legacy of comedic excellence that has defined this venue for over two decades.

Opened in 2001, the Tampa Improv has been a cornerstone of comedic entertainment, showcasing world-class comedians and earning unwavering support from its loyal fans. The decision to rebrand as The Funny Bone aligns with the venue’s commitment to evolving while preserving the rich history that has made it a beloved institution.

Co-founders Mitch Kutash and Gerald Kubach, visionaries behind the first Funny Bone in Pittsburgh, PA in 1983, brought their comedic expertise to Tampa Bay, turning it into a hub for nationally-recognized superstars. Legends like Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart, Tom Segura, Chris Rock, and many more have graced the stages of both the Tampa Improv and the 15 Funny Bone locations across the U.S.

Not merely a comedy club, The Funny Bone distinguishes itself as the largest privately-owned comedy venue in the U.S. Its pioneering spirit extends beyond laughter, accommodating diverse community needs. From hosting charitable functions to being a preferred gathering place for corporate outings and meetings, as well as offering family-friendly shows, The Funny Bone has etched its own permanent mark in comedic history.

The Funny Bone invites you to experience the laughter at its familiar location: 1600 E 8th Ave C-112, Tampa, FL 33605. Stay connected and check upcoming shows, featuring comedians like Arnez J (Dec. 8-10) and Marcello Hernandez (Dec. 29-30), at Tampa.FunnyBone.com.
