Tampa police detain a former Super Bowl champion
Dion Lewis, a former Super Bowl champion and New York Giants Running Back, found himself under arrest on Monday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.
According to arrest records, Seminole Indian Police took Lewis into custody around 2 p.m., and he was subsequently booked into the Orient Road Jail of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office an hour later. The charges against Lewis include trespassing in an occupied structure, and his bond has been set at $500.
A spokesperson for the Seminole Police Department informed WFLA.com that Lewis exhibited “unruly” and “belligerent” behavior, which included “causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.”
Lewis’s NFL career includes stints with various teams, including the New York Giants in 2020, the Tennessee Titans for two seasons, the New England Patriots from 2015 to 2018, and the Philadelphia Eagles from 2011 to 2013.
