Get Lost Happily in Two Corn Mazes This Fall in Plant City

It’s that time of the year again when corn mazes come to life. Although the city of Tampa, like most places in Florida, may not display the full spectrum of autumn colors, such as the fiery orange foliage and crisp mornings, we still relish the excitement of cooler days with temperatures dipping down to 65 degrees. Despite this, there are a few spots in the Tampa area that aim to provide residents with a traditional New England fall experience. Two farms in Plant City, specifically Keel Farms and Fox Squirrel, are dedicated to delivering just that.

One of these experiences can be found at Corky’s Corn Maze, located at Keel & Curley Winery (5202 Thonotosassa Rd). This maze is open on weekends from October through November, operating from 10am to 3pm on Saturdays and from 11am to 3pm on Sundays, and best of all, it’s free for everyone to enjoy.

Harvest season has also made its way to Keel Farms, offering activities suitable for all ages. These include hay rides, exciting camel rides at Corky’s, a vibrant pumpkin patch, a diverse array of 30 craft and food vendors, pumpkin painting, a kid zone hosted by Rockin’ Bouncies, and special releases of autumnal wines, ales, and ciders. These engaging activities are available every Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of October.

Meanwhile, the Fox Squirrel Corn Maze (located at 6151 Varn Rd) upholds a beloved Plant City tradition, welcoming visitors every Saturday and Sunday from October 7th through November 5th. The festivities at Fox Squirrel encompass hay rides, the classic corn maze experience, games suitable for both children and adults, a selection of food vendors, and the opportunity to purchase pumpkins and flowers.

General admission tickets are priced at $12 and can be conveniently reserved in advance through their website. Fox Squirrel opens its gates at 10 am and concludes the day’s activities at 5 pm. For more details about these exciting events, you can refer to their website.
