The Phoenix, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering sober active communities, will host its 4th annual “Fit To Be King” fundraising luncheon on February 20 at Armature Works in Tampa. This event honors the late Guy King III, a philanthropist who championed support for homelessness, mental health, and addiction recovery. Proceeds fund free fitness classes, peer support, and wellness resources for Tampa Bay residents.

A National Movement with Local Impact

Since 2006, The Phoenix has transformed over 500,000 lives nationwide by creating inclusive spaces for recovery through fitness and wellness. In Tampa alone, the chapter has served 10,000 individuals since 2019, with 83% of members maintaining sobriety after three months. Their evidence-based approach proves that connection and activity are pillars of sustainable recovery.
