Things To Do
Get Moving with These Must-Join Tampa Bay Run Clubs
Yes, you’ve seen them running through your neighborhood or down Bayshore. A pack of well-toned, brightly dressed athletes cruising along. That could be you! No need for prior 5Ks or marathons to join. Woof.
As prime running season kicks off, I, City Editor Bailey, am lacing up my pink Hokas to try running—or maybe just fast-paced walking—with some of Tampa’s best run clubs.
Editor’s note: This is just a sample of our packed local spread, which comes as no surprise thanks to our incredible weather most of the year.
Off Balanced Run Club
You’ve probably seen this crew pacing through Water Street Tampa or Hyde Park. This popular TBAY club meets on Tuesdays and Saturdays and hosts special events with local brands like Chill Bros. I’d say that’s a pretty good reason to run!
Pinellas Run Club
The largest run club in Pinellas County offers plenty of jogging options throughout the week. They meet at various 727 spots every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 7 a.m. Plus, organizers provide different route options for all paces — even walkers are welcome.
Armature Works Run Club
A club that finishes back at your favorite spot for beers and apps on the riverfront? Sign me up! Join Fit2Run for 5Ks along the Riverwalk every first and third Wednesday of the month. And, enjoy 10% off your first drink at Bar AW after your workout.
Run the Heights
Need a club that fits your busy schedule? This Seminole Heights group has you covered, meeting Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. You’ll always have time to squeeze in a run!
St. Pete Girls Who Walk
Prefer walking? On Wednesdays, we wear theme colors! This popular Sunshine City walking group meets in different locations around St. Pete and partners with local coffee shops and breweries for discounted drinks after the walk. They also have a sister club, St. Pete Guys Who Walk.
Tampa Girls Who Walk
If you’re looking to make friends or just add more steps to your day, this walking and social club is a fantastic choice. They host fun events all over TBAY, from strolls along Bouzy Bayshore to Bucs games and even dance classes.
