A Tampa alligator is among the many gators that will be honored on the first-ever Alligator Walk of Fame,” set to open in Florida this summer.

To celebrate over 100 alligator rescues in the last five years, Gatorland Orlando created the Alligator Walk of Fame so guests can see and learn about the park’s “celebrity alligators.”

“Just like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but with a wild twist, this unique attraction honors the incredible gators who call Gatorland home. Each star tells the story of a rescued alligator, highlighting their journey and the crucial role they play in our ecosystem,” Gatorland said on TikTok.

A few gators that will be featured on the walk include Chester, who was rescued from Tampa back in 2002 after he was caught eating dogs; Larry, who was rescued in 2019 after trappers said he got too comfortable around humans because they were feeding him so much; and Jawlene, a gator who went viral for missing her upper jaw.

Gatorland said the walk is a way to pay tribute to the park’s relationship with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in helping trap and remove gators from areas where they may be deemed a threat to the public.

The Alligator Walk of Fame is set to open this summer; however, Gatorland did not give a specific date. WFLA initially published the story.
