The Plant City Strawberry Festival is garnering some well-deserved attention as it has just been nominated for the 58th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards!

Out of all the fairs and rodeos in the country, the Strawberry Festival is one of only five in the running for this prestigious award.

The festival’s president, Paul Davis, expressed his gratitude and called the nomination an “incredible honor.” With its roots dating back to the 1930s, the Florida Strawberry Festival is a beloved event that has been recognized on a national level.

For 11 days each year, Plant City comes alive with the sweet aroma of strawberries as up to 600,000 visitors attend Strawberry festival! The festival started out as a celebration of the berry boom in the 1920s, but it has since grown into a $1 billion industry, making Plant City the Winter Strawberry Capital. And what’s a festival without delicious food? People line up for the famous strawberry shortcake, the sweetest part of the festival. But that’s not all – the festival is also known for its concert series with big-name country singers like George Jones and Willie Nelson gracing the stage in previous years. Mark your calendars for the 2024 Florida Strawberry Festival, taking place from February 29 to March 10 at 2209 W. Oak Avenue in Plant City.
