Tampa Double Murder Suspect Ambush

Tampa police arrested a man for allegedly ambushing and murdering two people at a downtown apartment complex on Saturday, according to a release.

Officers responded to an apartment building on Ray Charles Boulevard around 1:15 p.m. Saturday after a man and woman were found shot dead. Investigators said the suspect, 64-year-old Robert Craig Webb, targeted the victims after learning they had made allegations against him.

According to police, these allegations infuriated Webb, leading him to park in the apartment complex’s garage. He then entered the residential building via the stairs and waited for the victims in the hallway, where he fatally shot them.

Shortly after the killings, Tampa police reported that Webb turned himself in, surrendering the gun used in the shooting. He was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of armed burglary with assault or battery. At this time, police have not disclosed details about the allegations against Webb.
