Tampa's Winter Heat: Lauryn Hill and Fugees Announce Their Arrival

In a once-in-a-lifetime reunion, Lauryn Hill and the Fugees are bringing their talents to Tampa Bay this winter for the singer’s ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary’ tour.

Scheduled for Friday, December 8th, at 7:30 p.m., the highly anticipated performance will take place at the Amalie Arena.

This eight-time Grammy Award winner had previously planned to grace St. Petersburg’s Al Lang Field with her presence in 2018 but had to cancel the show. The last times Hill visited the area were in 2016 and 2011.

“I’ve almost felt compelled to carry a torch or to keep a light shining regarding the continual performance of the Miseducation album. I believe there’s been a reason for that, and the Fugees coming back together for performances too feels like unfinished business we’re destined to handle,” Fugees member Wyclef Jean said in a statement. “The connections are real and uncanny, and the magic and synergy between us has not been deterred by time. I believe the messages that we and the art we made embody something moving, meaningful and important for us and for the world.”

In 2015, Lauryn Hill’s iconic album received the prestigious honor of being added to the Library of Congress. Notably, following the album’s release, she made history as the first woman ever to earn 10 Grammy nominations in a single year and to win an impressive five Grammys in a single night.

Beyond the numerous awards and recognition, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” left an indelible mark on music, fashion, American culture, and global cultural influences. Its enduring impact continues to shape the creative direction of some of the world’s most prominent artists.

“Reuniting with Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean for the Miseducation Tour is a full circle moment,” fellow Fugee Pras said in a press release. “I look forward to celebrating with fans worldwide who have supported us for over 25 years. This tour is about the power of music to leave an indelible impact.”

Tickets for the show will be available for purchase starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 6th. Ticket prices for this event will vary, ranging from $55.75 to $295.75.
