Oceania Cruises, a distinguished subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., is poised to unveil a series of Caribbean and Panama Canal winter voyages setting sail from Tampa in 2026.
The Insignia, a 670-guest ultra-premium vessel, will embark from Port Tampa Bay starting in March 2026. Oceania Cruises will offer an array of itineraries ranging from seven to 20 nights, covering the enchanting Caribbean islands such as St. Thomas, St. Kitts, and Tortola. Guests will also explore Belize City, Cozumel, and Costa Maya, capped off with a daylight transit of the Panama Canal and an overnight stay in Panama City.
“The arrival of Insignia represents a major milestone, elevating Tampa’s status as a leading cruise destination,” remarked Paul Anderson, president and CEO of Port Tampa Bay, in a release. “We eagerly anticipate welcoming new visitors to our beautiful city and gateway, as this boost in tourism will foster significant economic growth for our community, workers, and local businesses.”
The Insignia is a boutique cruise ship featuring a dedicated crew of 400. Passengers will indulge in a selection of luxury dining venues, partake in immersive culinary tours led by local experts, and enjoy unique street food experiences.
According to Oceania Cruises, it will be the “first ultra-premium cruise line” to offer exclusive voyages from Port Tampa Bay. Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises, highlighted that this development will position Tampa as a key gateway to Florida’s west coast and the Gulf of Mexico.
“This is a natural expansion for our brand,” Del Rio stated. “Tampa captures the cosmopolitan charm of our cherished hometown of Miami, blending a rich mix of international influences and cultures.”
