Tripadvisor’s Latest Seasonal Travel Index Highlights Tampa Bay Destinations
As the summer vacation season draws to a close, Tripadvisor, the travel guidance platform, has unveiled the latest installment in its Seasonal Travel Index series. This report provides valuable insights and trends for fall travel, and it includes multiple Tampa Bay destinations.
Despite the waning of summer, travel enthusiasm remains strong. The survey revealed that 74% of American travelers intend to explore this fall, a significant increase from the 61% who had similar plans at the same time last year. Moreover, more than half (52%) of respondents plan to embark on more extensive journeys compared to the previous fall, while a mere 3% intend to scale back their travel.
The study highlights a growing interest in smaller Sun Belt destinations. The top trending destinations for Americans this fall, based on the places with the most significant year-over-year growth, include:

- Miami Springs
- Hawley, Pennsylvania
- Carefree, Arizona
- Reno, Nevada
- Cape Canaveral
- Holmes Beach
- Rutherford, California
- Indio, California
Additionally, U.S. travelers are expected to book more on-trip activities on average, ranging from three to five activities. These activities encompass various components such as food, activities, relaxation, shopping, people, and weather.
