MLK Day Parade Scheduled For January 15th
The community is warmly invited by the Dr. Martin Luther King Parade Foundation to join the Annual Martin Luther King Parade. Scheduled for Monday, January 15, the parade kicks off at noon. This year’s theme, “Passing the Torch,” underscores the importance of involving the next generation in social justice.
Grand Marshal Gwen Miller, the former Chairwoman of the Tampa City Council and the inaugural African American woman elected to the Tampa City Council, will lead the parade. Highlighting the event will be renowned bands from Florida A&M University, Bethune-Cookman University, and Edward Waters University, joined by over 100 participating groups.
Live music, marching bands and more
Florida Blue and TECO proudly sponsor the MLK Jr. Parade, with additional backing from the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority, Mosaic, Rebein Brothers Law, USAA, Amazon Black Employees Network, AT&T, Grow Financial, Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays, Bank of Tampa, Women’s Council of Bay Area Association of Realtists, and Media Partner 101.5 The Vibe, alongside other corporate leaders.
