Indulge in Authentic Mexican Street Eats at Los Chapos Tacos, Tamp
Los Chapos Tacos is serving up authentic Mexican tacos in Tampa, bringing the vibrant flavors of Mexico straight to the community.
A Side Gig Turned Success
Owner Christopher Rodriguez started this venture as a side gig, alongside his other business interests.
“We had a food truck parked outside of our building here,” he recalled. “And we started selling the street tacos and little by little it just exploded.”
What began as a simple food truck has now blossomed into a full-fledged restaurant with multiple locations across the Tampa Bay area.
Authentic Mexican Dishes
“We feature a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, street tacos, appetizers, and desserts,” Rodriguez explained.
However, the secret to their success is not just in the food but in who’s behind the magic in the kitchen at Los Chapos Tacos.
The Inspiration Behind the Kitchen
Rodriguez shared, “Me and my wife traveled to Mexico City and visited a bunch of tacorias to bring back inspiration. Not only did we return with inspiration, but we also brought back an amazing chef to join our team.”
That chef is Jonathan Reyes, who brings the true essence of Mexican flavors into every dish he crafts at Los Chapos Tacos.
The Passion of Chef Jonathan Reyes
“I’m really passionate about food. I love eating, I love also cooking,” Reyes said. “The best part about cooking is seeing smiling faces on your customers.”
At Los Chapos Tacos, every day’s mission is to put a smile on your face, and according to Reyes, the secret lies in the details.
The Secret to the Perfect Taco
“What I think makes a taco perfect is a perfectly heated tortilla and the best salsa,” Reyes explained. “As a Mexican, we always care about spiciness.”
The teamwork between Rodriguez and Reyes is sure to leave you satisfied and smiling with every bite.
